Pre Rome trip

My granddaughter Claudia always asks for a trip with her "nonna", as she calls me, when her birthday is coming. She was nine last Friday, July 3rd. So, tomorrow we are going to Rome!
It's always exciting to go on a trip with her. I always try to plan "serious" or, let's say, more "sophisticated" activities together with those that seem to be more frivolous or appealing to her. The funny thing is she always remembers the more sophisticated stuff! So this time I'm ready for anything so called "cultural"!
A few days ago I gave her a guide of Rome and ask her to check on the places she wanted to visit. Here is the list she came up with:

Most of the parks in Rome
The Pantheon
The Colosseum
Roman Forum
Baths of Diocletian
The Catacombs
Ostia Antica...

These were amongst her first choice. Not bad for a nine year old, right?

Hi again, Nuria! A couple of things:

1: Unfortunately, I didn't get the teacher place, so I'll keep fighting for that... Thanks for your support! :) I know that I can become a good teacher, but I still need to prepare myself a little bit more!

2: If you're going to Rome, non dimenticare di andare a piazza navona di sera, e pure prendere una birra nei campo di fiori li accanto, guardando al poverino Giordano Bruno! ;) Something else: If you want to taste the best "Supli" (a rice croquette with mozzarella & tomato) or "olive a l'ascolane" (meat stuffed olives) go to the restaurant "Montecarlo", in Vicolo Savelli 13, next to Corso Vittorio Emmanuelle! It's usually plenty of people on weekends, but it's a nice and authentic Italian Restaurant! Otherwise, in Testaccio, you can go to the restaurant "Remo", which is very nice...

Godspeed!

Ah! About things to visit... If you're planning to visit the Forum, the Coliseum and the Palatinum (it's the same ticket), I recommend you to but the ticket and enter first in the Palatinum: Queues are shorter, and once you have the ticket, you can enter to the other places without lining!

And and and... Enjoy! I'd tell you thousands of places which I like to visit when I'm there, but let's rely on your grandaughter, she looks very sensible!

:D

Ok, I can't shout myself once I start to talk about Rome! I love the Isola Tiberina, and also the Trastevere! If you visit that "Boca della Verità" enter the church, also! Santa Maria in Cosmedin is the most beautiful church in Rome, for me... and also one of the most ancient... But a lot of people doesn't enter, because they prefer only to look at that sewer cover! Mmmm... What else! The Pantheon, for me the best corner of Rome! Unfortunately, some popes removed the bronze tiles on the roof (That's why, in Rome, they say: "What the Barbarians didn't do, the Barberini did!"). The doors are original, and, entering, if you look up and right, you'll see the part of the pantheon which remains as the original decoration was...

But but but... I better shut up!

Have a nice trip! :D

By the way Nuria, is there any way of getting my final score of this 4th grade? I've called to the school and they told me I have to write a letter to somebody and more strange stuff! Is it so difficult to get it??? Oh-oh!
